The objective of this virtual library is to maintain alive the historical memory of the bloody events that took place in Peru between 1980 and 2000.During that time the terrorist movement Shining Path (Sendero Luminoso), the Revolutionary Movement Tupac Amaru (MRTA) and the brutal repression of the military forces and the police led to the assassination of some 70,000 innocent people.
According to the Commission of Truth and Reconciliation most of them died in Ayacucho. In the 1990s this genocide also included a forced sterilisation campaign of some 300,000 quechua speaking poor women.
Our virtual library is constantly in search and in preservation of books, articles, photos and videos so that people interested in them can use them free of charge.
To prevent this tragedy to happen again it is necessary to keep alive the historical memory of what happened.
